Funso Foluso-Henry is a multidisciplinary creative working across performance, photography and creative direction.

Photography was the starting point of her practice. At 15, she received her first DSLR camera and developed a strong focus on portraiture, forming an early interest in people and the subtleties of human expression. This curiosity led her to study Social Anthropology at the University of Sussex, where she developed a deeper understanding of culture, identity and social behaviour—an influence that continues to shape her work.

In 2018, the theft of her camera equipment marked a turning point, prompting a shift from behind the lens to in front of it. She went on to build a modelling career, walking in three official London Fashion Week shows for Marques’Almeida prior to the 2020 lockdown, all featured on Vogue. She has since modelled for numerous brands including Gymshark, L’Oréal and Boots.

She began to pursue acting in 2020, bringing a grounded and culturally informed approach to performance. Her work is guided by a close attention to character psychology and lived experience, allowing her to inhabit roles with nuance and emotional clarity. She made her screen debut in The Meaning of Daisey, which premiered at BFI Flare and screened at festivals internationally.

She is drawn to complex, character-driven stories and often gravitates towards roles that sit at the intersections of race, gender and culture. Alongside her dramatic work, she has a strong instinct for comedy, shaped in part by her upbringing between Nigerian and Liverpudlian cultures, where humour, timing and observation played a central role in everyday life. This sensibility carries through into her writing and performance, bringing sharpness, warmth and unpredictability to her work. She starred in Space Daddy, a surreal comedy which premiered at Raindance and Frameline in 2025, and appeared in Elton John’s Step into Christmas (2024).

Alongside her on-screen work, she has expanded into creative direction, supporting artists and brands in shaping visually and culturally resonant work. Her multidisciplinary background allows her to move fluidly between roles, contributing both creatively and collaboratively across projects.

Her practice is rooted in observation, empathy and a commitment to telling stories with depth, care and specificity.
